GE 0.7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven ReviewMicrowaves are essential kitchen appliances. And among them, the countertop microwaves are the ones that steal the show quite often. These compact and affordable reheating and cooking units have become immensely popular over the past few decades. They come in various sizes and functions. And, you can choose them depending on your budget and requirement.

Though large countertop microwave ovens reign the domestic family and commercial kitchens, small units are more adored by students, bachelors, and by the family of two.

GE 0.7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven is one such compact countertop microwave oven that is ideal for dorm use or office use.

The unit boasts a small 0.7 cubic feet of cooking chamber. The touch button control panel and easy to read digital display are easy to read and use. The unit offers auto and time defrost for thawing your frozen food items in a jiffy. No more hassles of creating a water bath or waiting for long hours to bring your meat and other raw frozen produce to room temperature. This unit does that thing with a snap of a finger.

The unit features a rugged stainless steel construction and is indeed a player of a long run. Things that the brand GE is known to offer its customers. With 700 watts of cooking power, the unit works efficiently with even cooking with pre-program menu options for popcorn, potatoes, and beverages. The spacious 0.7 cu ft of interior cavity is adequate for around 2-quart casserole dish.

With dimensions of 15.5 x 19.5 x 12 inches and weight of no less than 25.7 lbs, the unit offers both compactness and ample cooking space. It has a small footprint and can be easily placed on the kitchen countertop without occupying much space. Sleek and classy stainless steel exteriors blend easily with any sort of modern-age kitchen theme.

Pros

  • Compact.
  • Durable with stainless steel construction
  • Enough room for cooking
  • Pre-programmed cooking menu options

Cons

Sometimes the 700 watts of cooking power doesn’t seem adequate to reheat the cold food straight out of the refrigerator. It will take certainly longer for a 700 watts unit than a 1100 high powered one.

The automatic defrost function is not as accurate as other high-power bigger units

But, overall, this is a nice little microwave that does the thing without compromising too much on features.
