Simplifying, downsizing or the less-is-more movement – call it what you will – millions of Americans, from Millennials to Boomers, are seeking smaller living quarters. GE plans to manufacture micro kitchens at its FirstBuild microfactory by year-end.


The Expressionist Collection®, New collection of small kitchen appliances by Electrolux

“The Expressionist Collection was developed for design conscious consumers who take pride in their homes and who have a strong sense of aesthetics”, says James Brouillard, globally responsible for the Electrolux Small Domestic Appliances product line. “The design has been successfully tested on consumers in Europe, North America and Asia.”
The new Expressionist Collection includes a drip coffee maker, a water kettle, a toaster, a tabletop blender and an immersion blender. It is designed to match the larger Electrolux kitchen appliances like the Inspiration and Gourmet ranges.

“Electrolux strongly believes that this technology, where appliances communicate with each other, with consumers and with other devices, offers a great potential to develop products and services that improve how we cook our food and clean our homes. For instance, we are working on solutions for smarter cooking, which will leverage our professional capabilities to help people achieve great tasting food with minimum effort,” said Jan Brockmann, Chief Technology Officer, Electrolux.

Electrolux, a global leader in appliances for home and professional use, today announced it has joined the AllSeen Alliance, the broadest Internet of Everything open-source project, as a Premier Member. Membership in this collaborative initiative is a key enabler for Electrolux to help realize the promise of this technology and use connectivity to enhance the experience and end result of everyday tasks.
